Dr. Williams is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who treats clients across the lifespan. However, her targeted populations of care include children and adolescent with ADHD and behavioral issues; adult clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, and substance abuse disorders, as well as, having a specialized focus on the veteran and elderly populations who need mental health treatment.
Dr. Williams has proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. In addition, Dr. Williams also has over twenty-25 years of nursing experience with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master’s Degree in nursing earned and awarded from the University of South Alabama. She completed her Master’s internship at Biloxi Regional Medical Center, Biloxi, MS and she completed her DNP residency at New Leaf Behavioral Health Clinic, Wichita Falls, TX. Dr. Williams has strategically positioned herself to not only care for her clients but to teach Advanced Practice RNs students how to provide the best care when treating clients. Dr. Williams teaches in the nursing program at the University of South Alabama, Binghamton University, and Walden University.
Dr. Williams has three graduate certifications: a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner postgraduate certificate earned from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner graduate certificate earned from the University of South Alabama, and an Adult Nurse Practitioner postgraduate certificate earned from the University of Massachusetts. She is board-certified as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychitric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
She has practiced independently as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for over 10 years. Dr. Williams offers direct care services, including health promotion, illness prevention, and rehabilitation, in a variety of settings. She also offers a range of treatment modalities, including holistic treatment options and medication management.
